Systemic Candida

Yeast overgrowth is a common problem, but systemic presentations are rarely addressed via conventional medicine without obvious signs/symptoms.

We aren’t talking about presentations that manifest in the mouth (thrush) and ‘down under’ (candida vulvovaginitis).  Today, we are talking systemic yeast overgrowth – the sneaky kind, the kind you can’t see.

Research shows that many with systemic Candida albicans [an opportunistic pathogenic yeast] abound for those with:

  • Hormone imbalance,

  • Weakened immune function,

  • Metabolic syndrome,

  • Diabetes,

  • Regular antibiotic use

Symptoms associated with systemic yeast overgrowth vary significantly.  As such, it is often missed in traditional approaches to healing. Although chronic, low-grade yeast overgrowth is not easily detected, early identification + proper treatment is essential to whole body health.

As common cause of dysbiosis and increased gastrointestinal lining permeability, its effects on gut health are profound and symptoms often include:

  • Acne, rashes, eczema, psoriasis, and other skin complaints

  • Anxiety, mood lability, depression

  • Bloating + GI upset

  • Forgetfulness + brain fog

  • GERD + LPR

  • IBS symptoms (constipation + diarrhea)

  • Thyroid problems

  • Recurrent infection (UTI, URI, fungal, etc.)

  • Weight problems

The good news is, with consistency and intention, this can be tamed!  If you are struggling with any of these areas and would like support, please give us a call.  We are honored to help.
