One For One
2020 brought a myriad of challenges – health, economic concerns, stress of grandiose proportions, political strife, and social upheaval. One of the most interesting shifts for our immediate area was the intentional reduction of health care providers amid a global pandemic. A curious shift – in a time when homelessness and lack intensified, illness surged, and abuse deepened, our society narrowed its view. Riddled with fear and worry, many stopped looking outward, stopped serving, stopped being the social beings we were created to be. The various social determinants of health, and the disparities within, have become increasingly prevalent. Zip codes have effectually become an indicator for health outcomes.
Despite the chaos of 2020, these ‘social shifts’ strengthened our resolve to be the change we wish to see in the world. As such, GOOD MEDICINE was created.
The very heartbeat of our practice is the be conduit for health + wellness in our community – not just for those we serve in clinic, but for those without access in the community. We believe that empowerment begets a strengthened society. We aim to help those in need today, so they can inspire those around them tomorrow.
WIC and other subsidies, while helpful at times, can also extremely deleterious. Our food, now more than ever, is making us increasingly sick, while various industries continue to profit on our illness. At GOOD MEDICINE, we believe that food can be medicine, that health + wellness is attainable, that people can be equipped to become active + engaged participants in their health journey.
As a One for One practice model, we are passionate about using our resources to serve those in need, creating a healthier + strengthened community, better equipped to link arms with their neighbors and create the change we wish to see in the world. At GOOD MEDICINE, we extended deep gratitude to our clients for being a part of this journey. Your compassion is a universal language that can break down walls and create common ground. Your patronage matters much and the ripple effect is vast. One for One.
